DAMN GOOGLE AD

Craig noted that the banner ad above this page has today decided to display an message encouraging American expats to vote for Kerry. Ugh.

Can anyone suggest a cheap blog server?

On a related matter I Googled my surname today, and was pleased that I have displaced musician Gary Myrick and Blair Witch Project director Daniel Myrick as the third place Myrick - beaten only by Congresswoman Sue Myrick.

I was also pleased that the "similar pages" option brought a few respectable links, including some blogs that I hadn't yet visited that I will now likely blogroll:

The front page links were:

Pro-US S'pore blogger No Trespassing Beyond This Point;

The self-explanatoryDiary of an anti-Chomskyite;

Canadian conservative bloggers Musing and the Girl on the Right;

The always exceptional Protest Warrior;

The Anti-Moore Fahrenheit Fact and independent watchdog CBC Watch;

And, closing out the front page, we also had the delightful PolSpy.

The rest were an assortment of right-wing blogs and two links advertising slightly used inflatable sex dolls. There's also the entertaining - but not work safe - Fleshbot and a link hawking a device that lets women pee standing up.

With that, I've decided not to blog about porn for the next two weeks.

(That said though, I'd much rather have a banner ad selling used sex dolls than one promoting John Kerry.)
