CBA NOMINATIONS
Robert McCelland has taken it upon himself to host the first Canadian Blog Awards, thereby earning himself his first link from this 'right-whinger.'
The nominations continue until year-end. I am putting forth Damian Penny and Cicada as nominees for best conservative blog.
I would also like to propose an expansion of the categories, if it suits Mr McCelland.
Personally, I feel that such awards should be as much about providing little-read blogs with exposure as they are about awarding excellence. I believe that adding categories for best blog by province/territory would help do that.
Most Canadian blogs are national or international in terms of content, but there are a few worthies out there that cover individual provinces or cities. Should this proposition be accepted, I nominate John Gushue as best Newfoundland Blog and The London Fog as the best Ontario blog.
There were also some rumblings about how the recent 2004 Weblog Awards neglected to have any French-language blogs in the Best Canadian Blog category. I suggest adding a French-language category as well.
Oh, and a category for best expat blog wouldn't hurt either.
