INDONESIAN MOUNTAIN ORGY
I sometimes have difficulty in getting companions for mountain trekking. Some people don't understand why someone would walk up a mountain. However, I think some of my friends could be persuaded to try Central Java's Kemukus Mountain – especially if I provide them with a copy of this item, discovered through the Sassy Lawyer's site:
There are two ways to reach kemukus Mountain....A lot of mountains have superstitions attached to them. Some of my friends insist that no pork be brought to Malaysia's Mount Ophir, or else you could be targeted by a Pontianak who haunts the mountain. But having sex with strangers for 'good luck' is a new one.
Then (After ascending) after midnight on the Friday pon, which falls every 35 days according to the Javanese calendar, they retire to those tiny, harsh rooms in those grim blockhouses - and they all have sex....
Believers come to the tomb seeking answers to their prayers - for wealth, work, a partner, a child, a good harvest. They come mostly on the Friday pon, though some also arrive on another auspicious day known as the Friday kliwon, and according to tradition, they must have sex with a stranger each time for seven pons in a row before their wishes will be fulfilled...
I'm sure the Sherpas would not approve:
"You don't want to ask for trouble," says Himalaya anthropologist Jim Fisher. "There is already enough trouble up there." Of all the Everest no-no's, though, perhaps the one that most exasperates climbers is the taboo against having sex - "making sauce," in Sherpa parlance. In the zero-privacy zone of Everest, the Sherpas aren't shy about reprimanding those who cross the line.
