SWIMWEAR

We have yet another reason to have confidence in Indonesian police and security forces – they have developed rigorous selection procedures for new recruits.
A GROUP of Indonesian women have complained of sexual harassment after they were made to pose in skimpy swimsuits as part of a recruitment process for the Jakarta city administration, a report said today.
The applicants said they were made to don the revealing swimwear in the final phase of tests to qualify for jobs as public order officers in the Indonesian capital, the Warta Kota daily reported.
"The examiners were men. What angered us, whether it was intentional or not, was that the officers asked us to roll our swimsuit up the thighs close to the sensitive part," an applicant called Santi was quoted by the paper as saying.
It said some applicants who refused to wear swimsuits provided by the recruiters were disqualified. It was not clear whether the recruitment process involved a swimming test.
