REALITY CHECK
The war trumps most other concerns for me when I consider the November election. I'm more or less cheering for Bush because I don't believe the Democrats have as realistic a view on what is needed to be done in Iraq and beyond.
On my other major concerns - expanding free trade and cutting subsidies - the Bush administration has been a disappointment. Still, I don't think the man who was railing against "Benedict Arnold CEOs" would provide a reasonable alternative. As I noted earlier, were I American, I would have likely voted Libertarian in 2000.
But as the masthead says, I'm only a moderate libertarian. I can't quite buy into the isolationism of the mainstream Libertarian Party (debate among yourselves whether that makes me a 'moderate' or a 'hawk').
Still, even though I'm hoping for a Bush win, I won't be cheering too loudly if he does. Cato's David Boaz offers a reality check.
