PITCH

It's a small comfort after the Ipos, but I hope a good omen:
Winnipeg Sun: Harper Keeps Eye On the Ball
TORONTO -- Stephen Harper's handlers had a few tense moments yesterday worrying their leader would fumble the ball in the most crucial task of his day. But he managed a presentable performance, just as little high and soft.

Toronto Globe: To handlers' relief, Harper hits target
Stephen Harper ventured out last night where no other political leader would dare to go. He walked on to one of the country's biggest playing fields.

Toronto (Red) Star: Harper's pitch greeted by the boos of summer
Conservative Leader Stephen Harper struck out with Toronto Blue Jays fans last night at the SkyDome.

Hurm, both the Globe (which has an editorial board backing the Liberals) and the Sun note that Harper pitched well while the Star says Harper "struck out." Personally, I'm thinking here that the Star may have a hidden agenda backing Harper. I mean, he was pitching so getting a strike-out would be a good thing right?
