KOREAN CLASH I
After writing the Joe Strummer review last week I got nostalgic and pulled out a bunch of my old Clash
I had left all of my vinyl in Canada when I moved away in 1996 and had started rebuilding my collection in South Korea. I found to my eternal amusement that with Korean-produced Clash albums you get an added bonus of lyric sheets that are completely wrong.
This is how 'Janie Jones' sounds to Korean ears:
JANIE JONES
He's in love with rock 'n' roll world
He's in love with Getty stone wall
He's lovely Janie Jones world
But he don't like it as far as you know
And he knows what to do in the house
hes going to have fun with you
You'll like it like that
And he knows the human clubs
When his job is done he's going over in the club for you
Gimme in twilight of work
Cause our love is firm always sits with you
But he sits with everyone, got a phone call here
They just want him near
Better off with G.I. Joe!
At the end don't cry for it
Don't be in his alphabetic lie
(Set up with the government mind)
And as the bus stops and goes
Its getting really loud
Exactly how he feels
Real lyrics are here.
