CLOSER
I'm still at work, but feel the need to make a brief update on my last post. The results, it seems, are closer than they looked a couple of hours ago.
CBC, CTV and Globe has finished their counts (03:37 EDT), with all candidates now moved from the 'leading' to 'elected' columns.
The Liberals are at 135 seats, the Conservatives plus Cadman are at 100, the BQ at are 54, while NDP hold 19 seats, (thus becoming the only party that I called correctly).
That puts the combined Liberal-NDP total at 154. That's equal to the combined Conservative-Bloc total (or one short of the Con-BQ total given that the speaker would presumably come from the Liberal side, voting only as a tie-breaker).
Breathe easy, a Liberal-NDP coalition has not happened.
