AC STILL SUCKS
So, instead of welcoming the Conservatives' plan to reduce regulations hampering the airline, our national carrier has said it would rather see the same restrictions slapped on its competitors:
An Air Canada official said yesterday that the company has no wish to be freed from bilingualism rules and wants them applied to its competitors too.
"What we are asking from the government really is a level playing field among all Canadian carriers," said Isabelle Arthur, a Montreal-based media relations officer for the airline. She said Air Canada has taken no position on whether there should be changes in location requirements for its headquarters and maintenance bases.
As I noted yesterday Air Canada still has a state-monopoly mindset reinforced by overregulation and repeated bailouts.
